Portfolio Reel About Resume

With over 22 years professional industry experience working from Generalist up to Senior, Lead and Supervisor roles, I bring passion and expertise for developing the look of CG characters, props and environments.

With a BFA in Computer Art: Digital Effects & 3D Animation, I graduated with Highest Honors and received the Rhodes Family Award from School of Visual Arts in New York City. Since graduating in 2001, I have worked professionally in staff and freelance positions in some of the industries top studios including Framestore, Encore VFX, Elastic, A52, Psyop, Luma Pictures, Digital Domain, and The Mill, amongst others. I am excited to work in both large and small studios and strive to continue to excel as a valuable asset in the Visual Arts Industry.

My work as a Surfacing Artist spans Feature Films, Commercials, Episodics, Animation, Game and Movie Trailers, Title Sequences, Music Videos, Print Ad Campaigns, AR, VR, and 3D Design. I've produced photoreal and highly stylized CG work including human and animal digital doubles, super heroes, monsters, insects, set extensions, vehicles and props, environments, clothing, hair, fur and feathers, iconic game, commercial and film characters, and award winning ad campaigns.

Throughout my years of experience in nearly all areas of Visual Effects, I've aimed to empower my teams both as an Artist and Supervisor by solving technical and artistic challenges, streamlining surfacing techniques while maintaining the highest aesthetic quality, as well as mentoring Junior Artists and Interns. I enjoy the collaborative process and working with Artists and Supervisors interdepartmentally as well as in conjunction with TDs, Art Directors, VFX Supervisors, Production and Clients to achieve each project's ultimate vision. I am also thrilled to have been an integral part of Immersive Technologies Teams at the forefront of innovative AR and VR Apps, providing artistic leadership and establishing workflows. My experience gives me a wide perspective by which I see every asset from start to finish, placing the focus on maintaining best standards and practices with respect to each intended platform, working efficiently and delivering results on time that exceed expectations.

Outside of Visual Effects, I am a lifelong painter, sculptor and creator. I enjoy painting as well as designing and creating stop motion puppets. Currently, I volunteer in our community Art League hanging quarterly group shows featuring my work, as well as the traditional work of many local artists. Before relocating to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona in 2020, I curated monthly group and solo exhibitions for a Los Angeles Art Gallery and Tattoo Studio owned by myself and my husband for many years. I have performed live painting on canvas in front of an audience at several Los Angeles events and have participated as an artist in many exhibits as well!

I always welcome new challenges and look forward to hearing about exciting opportunities! Message me directly if you would like to connect at wendymklein@gmail.com or via LinkedIn www.linkedin.com/in/misswendyfx
